Playboy were once the pioneers in classy adult content and entertainment, recently however they failed to keep up with technological advances and their target audience. It would always have been logical to assume that eventually as the internet became more wide spread, more accesible and cheaper that adult companies would begin to thrive just as they did with the VHS… I would’ve thought Playboy to be the first large adult entity to begin developing it’s online arm early on, much earlier than their rivals but it would seem they are still stuck in the 60′s when magazines were the best kind of entertainment a man could get… That is all changing now and given the over charged and inconvienience of nipping out for your monthly mag or waiting for it to hit your doorstep you can just logon and have access to what you are paying for immediately and more of it than ever before!

Playboy.co.uk is incredibly disappointing and really makes me rethink the inspiration I have felt from Playboy over the last few years. Their videos do not play, their images are not images – rather embedded flash galleries, that allow you zero content to save or download so once your subscription ends you have nothing to show for your membership or… cash!

The design is truly awful, large, unsightly, unecesssarily hyphenated text and headings, way too much flash content and overall very buggy. They claim comptaibility with the three major browsers, IE, Firefox and Safari but I have tried it in all three and I still get the same – nonplaying videos, very frustrating for a paying member.

No wonder Playboy’s empire is flagging with this kind output, they should be running the biggest and the best adult network on the net!
