Today saw the purchase of my new DSLR camera, I went expensive and invested in one of the most popular DSLR cameras ever – the new(ish) Canon 5D MKII it will arrive tomorrow and I’ll begin using it almost immediately. I’m so incredibly excited with what I’ve seen, read and heard about it, the 5D looks like an amazing piece of kit and i have a feeling i will get a decent mileage out of it.

My hope is that this purchase will improve my imagery in terms of image quality and capture as well as motivate me to spend more time learning and focusing on technique. With this purchase I’ve also began looking at studio hire in Manchester, I feel a studio would not only appear more professional to potential models but also, with the resources available, improve my photography and advance my experience of professional adult photography.

I have a feeling Natalia X will be my first choice of model to shoot with my new gear. I plan to start shooting models again in March, this will hopefully be the first of many studio shoots; there are many new(ish) models that i would like to shoot, I’ve just got to get my ass in to gear and sort everything out.

I want to shoot images that people will look at and pause for a moment, images that literally explode in your eye and forces it’s way in to your mind. I’m a long way off and my photographic experimentation is due to begin as soon as suitable models are found. I’m think fetishistic imagery but not necessarily bondage.

In other news:

• New models section is undergoing final design tweaks and will be up by Monday; basically the same as the previous version but with a few minor changes and the design adapted to conform to the current layout of benyatesphotography.com!
• I will become an Uncle for the second time, it was confirmed yesterday, i am looking forward to the new arrival.
